CS4 BD Build Transcode Hangs

Configuration: Windows 7 Home full updates. 64 bit. HP computer. 16GB physical memory. Plenty of hard drives space. CS4 Production Premium.

Encore project characteristics: Goal is to select one of three clip sets. Sequence 1 has 96 images (13m03s total duration); sequence 2 has 90 images (12m37 total duration); sequence 3 has 13 images (02m11s total duration); sequence 4 has 61 images (09m08s total duration). Each image has an encore chapter marker at its start set in PPro. The three topic menu selections are: sequence 1; sequence 2-3; sequence 4. Dynamic Link used to import PPro sequences into encore.

Trying to build a blu-ray, 1080p, NTSC, 29 fps videos. Hangs early on transcoding and also preview. No errors just hangs. Same for either build image or folder. Here is a sample procedure.

(1) Restart PC.

(2) Sys info: 16G total RAM (13.7G available); 32G total virtual memory 29.6G available); page file space 16G). (3) Open Encore and the project. All sequences come in fine and accurate; however, it takes minutes for the whole bring-up to complete.

(4) Sys info: 16G total RAM (11.6G available); 32G total virtual memory 27.0G available); page file space 16G).

(5) Open build window and select image. The disc info at bottom shows: 4.43G used and 0G for BD-ROM content.

(6)Click "Build" and transcoding starts in the "Build Progress" window with sequence 4. Lower progress line gets to about 40% and stops. No errors. There is nor has been any  information (blank) in the writing, data written and time remaining fields.

(7) Sys info: 16G total RAM (10.7G available); 32G total virtual memory 26.0G available); page file space 16G). (8) Cancel "Build Process" window, Close "Build" window.

(9) Sys info: 16G total RAM (10.76G available); 32G total virtual memory 26.0G available); page file space 16G).

Have had different results in step 8. This example went smooth. Have had hangs in shutting down the build windows with errors like no image space and shut down immediately might lose data.

One other interesting item. All the "Sys info" came from running the Windows system information in the accessories folder. After step 8 was finished I noticed the encore help->system info. Selected this and got the following: System:

Personal, Service Pack 1 (Build 7601)

DVD Devices Installed:     hp BD-RE  BH30L (Firmware B633)     PLEXTOR BD-R  PX-LB950UE (Firmware 1.02) DLT Devices Installed:     None

Not sure why "Total Physical Memory" is shown as 4095 MB. Any suggestions or solutions? I have built smaller BD projects to image and folder with no problem.
