How to make a "fabric"-like texture

I've seen a fair number of graphics with cool fabric-like textures lately, where the design looks like it was printed on material, like this: http://tinyurl.com/a6l4oyb

I looked up a few tutorials, but didn't have much luck with the results. Does anyone know how to accomplish this effect well?
