Transfer from PC to IMAC???

Currently use a PC and have treated myself to an IMAC.  Loaded mac software and now want to tsf all files from old PC to new one BUT want to include the files which are VERSIONS - If I copy from hard drive the edited (version) files copy over seperately therefore increasing disk space.  Can this be done - idential copy from PC to MAC.

Have also tried Migration software with Apple but had been running for 24 hrs and still not found files so any help would be appreciated????
