The goal:
1. To post sample clips on my web site at 1920 x 1080 using the H.264 codec.
2. To have the window showing that clip appear smaller, like the YouTube default window size. This means the 1080 will need to be scaled down in window mode, but would show at full 1080 resolution if the window is full-screened (assuming a 1920 x 1080 display).
YouTube is out because the copyrighted music won't allow the clip to play on my web site.
HTML5 is out because Firefox doesn't allow the H.264 codec.
The freeware flash players I've tried will not actually scale the 1080 video to fit in the smaller window. You either scale the video down to fit the window (which means potential customers don't see the full resolution of my work), or you scale the window up to fit the 1080 video (which leaves no room for the rest of my web site).
Anyone else have any ideas?
