So I've been using Encore to encode and master a couple VERY simple blu-ray projects. No menus or anything, just auto play once you insert the disk. It's about 2 hours worth of video so the bit rates are down near 4Mbits but still look MUCH better then a DVD with a upcoverting player. However, once encore checks the build and lets me know everything is ok and ready to burn, I'll use encore to create a BluRay image file and then use Toast Titanium to burn that image file to a standard 4.7gig DVD. All seems fine and I don't get any errors anywhere, however, when playing in a standard BluRay player (two different Samsung models, sadly I don't have any others to test it in) the video file will just start playing in the middle. Since there are no chapters or menus the only options I have is "stop" and "play". It ALWAYS starts at the same point once the disk is burned, but depending on the project that point is different. Example, project 1 was a 2 hour video and when putting it in either BluRay player it started at 5 minutes 30 seconds into the disk and then played to the end from there and would stop when at the end. There was NO WAY to start before that 5 minutes 30 second mark. Project 2 is a 2 hour and 22 minute video and again it builds fine and makes the image and burns fine from Toast but in both BluRay players it starts at 23 minutes and like 10 seconds and plays fine from there to the end.
When I mount the image file in Toast and use Toast's built in video player to test it plays perfectly fine from the first frame. The image file is below the maximum size of a standard DVD so there shouldn't be any issue with running out of space...
I'm CLUELESS to what is causing this so I have no idea how to begin to trouble shoot this. It's a very simple project with one video track and one audio track, no menus, no chapters, nothing. I just want 2 hours of video in AVC format (compliant to BluRay specs of course) to be cramed onto a standard DVD. The only other weird thing is that both times the time code showing on the Samsung BluRay player seemed messed up. It would every now and then show "00:00" and then snap back to "45:30" or where ever i actually am in the video and begin counting up again correctly for a random amount of time before jumping to "00:00" again for just a second. Video plays fine during this time and doesn't jump around though...
