Release Window for SDK

Is Release Window for SDK versions same as Creative Cloud Versions?

I mean for bug fixes, updates, new capabilities etc..

Not sure where I can see release history information.

Or simply put, when will be next SDK version or SDK updates coming, approximately, like in months?

I apologize in advance, if this question is one of those which is asked too many times.

changing styles in a locked text frame

$

I work for a newspaper. We have to change 50-100 pages that have a date/page number across the bottom every week. The text boxes are locked so they don't get moved out of place. In all other versions of indesign we could do 'replace in all open documents' and the date for every text box across the bottom will change. In Indesign CC we can't do that on a locked text box. It adds an incredible amount of wasted time changing the date on every page or unlocking every one, then locking again. Does anyone else have this issue? Is it a glitch in mine?

Pathfinder "Shape Mode" buttons do not appear like "pressed"

In some video tutorials while working with "shape mode buttons" last some times appear in pathfinder panel like "pressed" (for example when already made compound shape is selected). Trying to repeat those tutorials I still couldn't see them "pressed" in my panel, despite doing all steps absolutely similar and having the coincident version of illustrator. What is the logic of appearing those button pressed?

read untagged document dialog box now shows up for every pdf opened..?

Hey,

This only started happening within the last three or four months. Whenever I open a .pdf file in reader, the .pdf will open but also a dialog box titled "Reading untagged document" will pop open also saying that the document is untagged and needs to be prepared for reading. It has something to do with 'assitive technology'. How do I get rid of this box. I don't want it to pop up any more. I'm very sick of it.

Thanks.

iOS SDK clearVars() usage

Hi,

       I would like to understand the usage of clearVars() method from 3.x Omniture iOS SDK. As the measurement API provides singleton object, I was under impression that we should invoke clearVars() method for every track call. But the given example doesn't have invoke clearVars() method. It would be nice if someone can explain the scenarios of when we should invoke clearVars() method.

Rich Black Tips, Information, and Formulae

Over on the Illustrator Forums a topic was started to discuss rich black tips and information. I thought the discussion would be better placed here because it goes well beyond Illustrator and, indeed, Adobe products overall.

So, what's your go-to rich black formula? What tips and advice do you have for other designers; for people working in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, and other printing products, and; for those new to print design who might not know anything about the what, when, and why of rich black?

'Safari' coming in browser report for an IOS (iPAD) App

$

Hi,

I have an iPad App and implemented Adobe Analytics using the IOS SDK taken from mobilemarketing.adobe.com.

I have a dedicated report suite to the App i.e. only the iPad App is submitting data to the report suite.

When I pull the browser report in Adobe Analytics (Visitor Profile > Technology > Browsers) I just see one row with 'Safari' value in the Browser column. Also the visit metric count for Browser='Safari' is same as to the visit metric count for Mobile > Devices = 'Apple iPad ' report.

Is this all right? I mean should the Browser reports be populated even if the user's are using an iPad only not the web browser (Safari in this case).

Thanks!

Susheel

[iOS SDK] Apple's requirements to support IPv6-only networks

$

Apple says,

"Starting June 1, 2016 all apps submitted to the App Store must support IPv6-only networking."

"If your app uses IPv4-specific APIs or hard-coded IP addresses, you will need to make some changes."

https://developer.apple.com/news/?id=05042016a

Is iOS SDK itself free from this concern?

Best regards,

Crashes report in iOS life cycle metrics

$

Hi,

I have a question regarding Crashes report in iOS life cycle metrics.
Can someone please explain how 'Crashes' report is tracked in SiteCatalyst?

"Triggered when the application does not exit gracefully. Event is sent on application start after crash (the application is considered to crash if quit is not called)."

We found the above in documentation, but we need more details.

What is a quit and when is it called/triggers usually?

The reason why I'm asking is because we are seeing a massive increase in our crashes report since we launched our latest app version. But the new version traffic seems to be doing better than our previous versions.
The numbers we are seeing from SiteCatalyst aren’t the same we are seeing from Crittercism (10k vs 150k daily) – we’d like to understand what triggers the instance.
We don't have any idea why SiteCatalyst suddenly reports such an increase in Crashes report.

Thanks

iOS sdk v4.0 - is userIdentifier sent with lifecycle events

$

How is the userIdentifier used within the iOS sdk v4.0 is this stored and sent back with lifecycle events? We want to match lifecycle events to users of the app.

The use scenario I envisage is that we would be able to implement a processing rule to pick up the userIdentifier and assign it to an eVar, and we could then pull reports for lifecycle events against userIdentifiers(eVar).

Is this possible?

Data not populated in the Report Suite, when sending from iOS SDK 4.0

Hi,

We've implemented tracking for our client's mobile application using the new iOS SDK 4.0.2.

Everything looks like it is sent out fine (200 in return) when we test using Charles or Bloodhound, and the configuration also looks correct (we have checked that the report suite is ready for offline tracking).

The output from Charles looks like this:

<transaction status="Complete" method="GET" protocolVersion="HTTP/1.1" protocol="http" host="metrics.ourclient.com" actualPort="80" path="/b/ss/ourclientrsid/0/OIP-4.0.2/s76645163" query="AQB=1&ndh=1&pageName=presenter&ce=UTF-8&aid=13D9916EE23C4340-1A7C9 5AFC9BC1A50&c.&a.&DeviceName=iPad2%2C5&Resolution=768x1024&OSVersion=i OS%207.1&AppID=ourclient%201.4%20%28223%29&CarrierName=%28null%29&.a&.c&am p;t=00%2F00%2F0000%2000%3A00%3A00%200%20-120&AQE=1" remoteAddress="metrics.ourclient.com/66.235.139.205" clientAddress="/172.16.2.44" startTime="2014-05-21T09:08:00.199+02:00" startTimeMillis="1400656080199" dnsDuration="452" connectDuration="206" requestBeginTime="2014-05-21T09:08:00.857+02:00" requestBeginTimeMillis="1400656080857" requestTime="2014-05-21T09:08:00.857+02:00" requestTimeMillis="1400656080857" responseTime="2014-05-21T09:08:01.057+02:00" responseTimeMillis="1400656081057" endTime="2014-05-21T09:08:01.058+02:00" endTimeMillis="1400656081058"

And the configuration file is currently this:

{
"version" : "1.0",
"analytics" : {
"rsids" : "ourclientrsid",
"server" : " metrics.ourclient.com",
"charset" : "UTF-8",
"ssl" : false,
"offlineEnabled" : true,
"lifecycleTimeout" : 150,
"privacyDefault" : "optedin",

}

I have also attached a screen dump from Bloodhound.

Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

FYI: We have created a ticket, but no response yet.

Thank you in advance,

Robert

ADMS in iOS app, Charles only shows an entry after resume of the app, not launch

I'm integrating ADMS into an iOS game.

I've setup Charles to test whether the calls are coming through, and I can only see them after I've paused the app (press home button) and resumed it. They are not showing up on launch.

I have a wrapper class that looks like this:

#import <Foundation/Foundation.h> #include <OpenFLOmniture.h> #include <ADMS_Measurement.h> #define __STDC_FORMAT_MACROS // non needed in C, only in C++ #include <inttypes.h> typedef void (*FunctionType)(); namespace openflomniture { void init(const char* tracking_rsid, const char* tracking_server, const char* app_name); void init(const char* tracking_rsid, const char* tracking_server, const char* app_name) { NSLog(@"Omniture Init"); NSString* ns_rsid = [[NSString alloc] initWithUTF8String:tracking_rsid]; NSString* ns_server = [[NSString alloc] initWithUTF8String:tracking_server]; NSString* ns_app_name = [[NSString alloc] initWithUTF8String:app_name]; ADMS_Measurement *measurement = [ADMS_Measurement sharedInstance]; [measurement configureMeasurementWithReportSuiteIDs:ns_rsid trackingServer:ns_server]; measurement.offlineTrackingEnabled = YES; // Must be in parity with server [measurement setLifecycleSessionTimeout:1800];  // 30 Minutes NSString *sdkVersion = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@:%@:%@", [[ADMS_Measurement sharedInstance] version], [[[NSBundle mainBundle] infoDictionary] objectForKey:@"CFBundleVersion"], [[[NSBundle mainBundle] infoDictionary] objectForKey:@"CFBundleShortVersionString"]]; // Persistent Context Data the only way to set appName/sdkVersion on launch in 3.x NSMutableDictionary *contextData = [NSMutableDictionary dictionary]; [contextData setObject:ns_app_name forKey:@"appName"]; [contextData setObject:sdkVersion forKey:@"sdkVersion"]; [measurement setPersistentContextData:contextData]; [measurement setAutoTrackingOptions:ADMS_AutoTrackOptionsLifecycle]; } }
