Setting up and formatting a large program guide

Hi.
I'm pretty experienced with inDesign, and am familiar with data merge as well as some *light* scripts, so I'm not looking at getting a step by step so much as a point in the right direction, I just really can't wrap my head around this specific issue.

 

The end result I want is just a simple program guide, the current designer has made it using tabs however I would think a table would work better for automation (?)

It's an export from some program, comes as plain text and they currently have someone fix it up in Word THEN put it into indesign, I am to obsessive about automation to do this in such a crazy way. Let's assume we I can't get the exported info to change, I wonder if I can automate something to break this into a table, then use the table with datamerge? Or am I stuck just copy and pasting until they change the work flow?

Is there any way to modify the rate/method by which you zoom in and out of a composition? I can't stand the jagged jumps when using two fingers and how it always zooms to the corner of the workspace.

Sony raw files will not open

I have just bought the latest version of stand alone lightroom but it still will not open Sony A7r" raw files despite listing this camer as supported is ther a reason for this and a fix before I start getting my money back ?

How similar are Acrobat Pro DC 2017 and Acrobat Pro 2017 (boxed) under the hood, and what are the differences? Would the .admx and .adml GPO templates for Acrobat Pro DC work with Acrobat Pro 2017?

AEM WKND Tutorial Setup Errors

Hi, hope someone can help me out with this.

 

I'm currently following along with the WKND tutorial, at the project setup stage.

Getting Started with AEM Sites Part 1 - Project Setup

 

On step 4 "Build Your Project" I typed in the following commands:

$ cd aem-guides-wknd

$ mvn -PautoInstallPackage clean install

 

But I get the following errors:

Importing Large File - Freezes up Lightroom

Hello there!

 

I'm having trouble importing a large file. It's a pano that I made in photoshop and am trying to import it into lightroom. Every time I try to import it the loading bar at the top left screen just stays at zero and when I cancel it the import, my lightroom will freeze up and I can't do anything. I have to force quit every time in order to get lightroom to start working again. The file size is 14400x11656 or 480.2M. And my understanding is that the highest file size lightroom can take is around 515M.

 

Someone please help!!

Adobe Fonts for commercial logos, print, and more

Between Apple and Adobe they compose 99.9% of my software and also 99% of my income.

 

As a freelancer starting out I would like some simple clarification from an administrator, Adobe representative, or anyone who has talked with them regarding font usage rights.

 

I don't undestand why anyone would ever purchase fonts for personal use, but that is NOT what I am doing. I use them to create logos and print documents for CLIENTS. These documents are not created for 'fun.' Although sometimes they end up being fun

 

Can I use fonts provided by Adobe either purchased or that come with their software to:

 

1) Create a logo, brocheure, or business card for a client that will be used commercially?

2) Alter the type (kerning, serifs) for designing a logo, brocheure, or business card for a client that will be used

    commercially?

3) Do I have to read each EULA for the fonts Adobe provided with it's software or is the EULA for all fonts

    installed on the software applicable?

4) I know NOT to send electronic files to my clients and to embed the font so they can not access the font on

   their computer. Is 'embedding' the font ok for my projects?

 

I am so confused. I don't understand why there can not be a straightforward response for these large corporations. I understand purchasing individual fonts from foundries through databases and reading each EULA is imperative, but not for these large corporations.

 

Sorry, just went through this with Apple, and so many individuals give variable responses.

Opening cr 2 files

I just recently upgraded my camera (a Rebel EOS T3 to a Canon EOS 6d. )  when i shot in Raw on the Rebel my CR2 raw files would open with photoshop.  With the 6d  i get the message that the CR2 files are the wrong type of file.  I am using Photoshop Elements 9.  Is there a upgrade available that will allow me to open these files when shooting in raw?

Lightroom CC Classic puts a Preset on every RAW-Image, help please!

Hello,

I´ve noticed that Lightroom Classic CC put´s a preset on every RAW-image, which increases the contrast.

But I don´t like that, I want to start editing at zero.

 

First is shown the RAW-image, meanwhile is there an sign which says "loading", after 1-2 seconds the image looks much more contrasty.

I´d like to deactivate this function.

Could someone help me?

The Table Designer will not change the background cell color in the header row.

FM 2017: the Table Designer will not change the background cell color in the header row. I can change it with the Custom Ruling and Shading but I want to change the Header background color for all of the tables in the document.

What is more suitable to use: Adobe Air or Flash?

I'm working on a project for wedding celebrations shows (with animations), I have started building it with flash, but later, I found Adobe Air has richer libraries serve me in some things i need like fileStream that used for reading And writing the text files perfectly is i didn't found in flash. Kindly,anybody could advise me what is better I use ( Air or flash)?, with noting I don't use it in internet, only off line , also how the air deal with authoring tools?

Edit Photoshop file on another App?

My boss had a graphic made for him in Photoshop and wants to know if he can open this Photoshop file and edit itin a different application?

 

I am an avid Adobe user, however he wants to use something simple like Microsoft Word or PowerPoint. He needs to be able to constantly edit this graphic. I tried exporting as a PDF and opening through Word, however the file size was too large.

 

Any ideas..?

Foto-Abo der Creative Cloud Aktionscode - Problem

Hallo,

 

beim Kauf meines Surface Books habe ich einen Gutscheincode für das Foto-Abo der Creative Cloud erhalten. Nun habe ich den Code eingelöst und die CC heruntergeladen. Laut Beschreibung von Seiten Microsofts (Herausgeber des Codes) ist in dem Foto Abo d Photoshop und Lightroom 3 Monate kostenlos enthalten.

 

Nach Download der Programme und erstem Start wird die Testlaufzeit lediglich für 7 Tage begrenzt. Woran könnte das liegen?

Complaint - Abobe Doesn't want to extend my trial as promissed

Hi,

My trial on Adobe Captivate Prime expired yesterday. I've received  from you an email offering either to buy it or ask a 7-days extension I've clicked on the extension link and I got the option to chat with a customer service agent. At first he said my request was fulfilled, few minutes lates he said he was facing problems and finally he wrote he could't give the extension. Later on, he said there is not option for trial.

I've sent him screen capture of the email and he transferred me to sales department. The person wasn't helpful at all.

Why you don't honor your promotions and offers? Why is that you said you can extend my trial and few minutes later you said no?...

I'm copying my chat transcription below...  I need you to honor your promise. Extend my trial if you want me to believe in you and purchase this product.

Something for the weekend - Part 12 - The Dark Side of the Moon

Hi

There were some excellent images in last week's ballroom challenge . This week I've gone for something a little different.

 

It is 45 years since Pink Floyd released their album The Dark Side of The Moon. Its songs explored greed, mental illness, the passage of time. The iconic album cover was created by Hipgnosis'  Storm Thorgerson, who designed many album covers with very clever manipulation of photographs, and George Hardie who created the prism artwork. The band requested a "simple and bold" design.

 

So the challenge this week is this. If you had been asked to come up with the cover design for The Dark Side of The Moon what would you have created?

As usual, anything goes as long as it meets the forum rules on decency, copyright etc.

Anyone is welcome to have a go - whether you are a complete beginner or a Photoshop expert.

There are no prizes - just the chance to practice, show off, or perhaps bring a bit of humour and fun.

 

When posting your images please use jpeg/png and size at 1200 x 1200 pixels
